2. Nigerian Prince or 419 scams, where the scammers pretend to be wealthy people or a foreign government that needs help transferring money out of the country. The scammers ask for an upfront fee, but the money never arrives. Another common online scam is online auction fraud, where they list fake or nonexistent products on a marketplace or auction site and then ask for payment before the goods are delivered.

4. Tech Support: scams are when a scammer impersonates a tech support agent from a well-known company such as Microsoft or Apple and contacts victims by phone or through a pop-up message on their computers.

5. Romance scams: are when a fraudster creates a fake online dating profile to create a romantic relationship with a victim. Once a relationship is established, the victim is asked for money for a variety of reasons such as medical expenses or travel expenses and then the scammer disappears.

6. Investment scams are when the scammer tells victims that they will get a high return on their investment in stocks, crypto, or any other financial opportunity. However, the investments are often fake and result in financial losses.
